TAX JOURNEY (Establishments)

VALUE ADDED TAX REGISTRATION (Establishments).

This service allows the registration of establishments that are subject to Value Added Tax. Upon successful registration, a dedicated VAT account number will be assigned.

Steps:
  • Log in to the website Zatca.gov.sa
  • Navigate to the "General Services" tab.
  • Go to "VAT Registration" tab.
  • Fill out the registration form
  • You will receive a notification containing the VAT certificate once the request is completed
Terms and Conditions:
  • Annual revenue must meet the mandatory or voluntary registration threshold.

Filing a Value Added Tax (VAT) Declaration

Taxpayers subject to VAT must submit their tax declarations (returns) and disclose all transactions related to taxable sales and purchases.

This service allows you to submit your VAT returns.

Steps:
  • Log in to Zatca.gov.sa
  • Go to "E-Services".
  • Select "Value Added Tax".
  • Navigate to "Tax Declarations" tab.
  • Select the declaration you wish to file.
  • Submit the VAT declaration form.
  • Sales at Taxable Standard Rate
Requirements:
  • Total Sales Data
  • Total Purchases Data

Tax Payment

After submitting or amending the declaration, and in the event of penalties, a "SADAD" invoice will be generated containing the invoice number and the amount due. You can then settle the outstanding amounts either through online banking services or via ATMs.

Steps:
  • Receive SADAD invoice
  • Make payment through online banking services or ATMs
  • You will receive a payment notification via SMS
Requirements:
  • Settlement of due amounts using the "SADAD" invoice number

Request for Re-issuance of VAT Certificate

This is a self-service that allows reprinting of the VAT certificate.

Steps:
  • Log in to Zatca.gov.sa
  • Navigate to Indirect Taxes (Value-Added Tax)
  • Select "Request for Re-issuance of VAT Certificate"
  • Click on the "Re-issue Certificate" icon
  • A digital copy of the certificate will be generated for you to print
Requirements:
  • Completion of VAT registration

Request for Objection to Reassessment

Log in to the ZATCA portal at zatca.gov.sa
Select “Taxpayer Requests” under Indirect Taxes (Value-Added Tax)
Select “View Requests” then “Create New Request,” then select “VAT Review Request” from the list.
Fill out the form, specifying the reason for review, provide the objection details, and attach supporting documents.
The bond amount will be calculated automatically. select “Bank Guarantee”Submit the request.
You will receive a notification containing the reference number

Steps:
  • Complete Registration with the Ministry of Commerce
  • Log in to ZATCA’s Website
  • Log in to the E-portal
  • Navigate to Zakat, Tax and Customs
  • Register on the ZATCA’s E-portal
  • Complete the Zakat/Income Tax registration form. You will receive a notification once the request is complete.
Requirements:
  • Full payment of undisputed amounts registered before filing the objection
  • A clear explanation of the reasons for the objection
  • Submission of the required bank guarantee or payment of the required cash guarantee for the disputed amounts.

Interpretive Ruling Request

This service allows you to submit interpretive ruling requests to obtain an opinion from ZATCA regarding the interpretation of the provisions of applicable tax laws and regulations in Saudi Arabia (Value Added Tax, Income Tax, and Withholding Tax), and the mechanism of their application to transactions related to the applicant's business activity. This is in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated for in the Interpretive Rulings Guidelines.

Steps:
  • Log in to the ZATCA portal: zatca.gov.sa
  • Select “Interpretive Ruling Request” under the Value-Added Tax section
  • Create a new request and complete the form
  • Submit the request and receive a submission notification
Requirements:
  • Completion of the Interpretive Ruling request form
  • Description of the matter subject to the interpretive ruling request
  • Submission of necessary supporting documents
  • Submission of all other requirements stipulated for in the Interpretive Rulings Guidelines.
